Build in 1999 and situated 250 km south from Hurghada and 27 km north from Marsa Alam, its still not an overfloatet area of  tourism. The resort is build in Nubien Stile what gives it a special flair. Two swimming-Pools, Cliff-Bar, 3 Restaurants, Fitnessroom, Tenniscourt, Camel- and Horse riding, Disco and much more

Negative:  Its a resort where you have to walk much, very large distances, many stairs, what in the dark could be pretty dangerous, the management promised to do something, so we'll wait and see.

Diving (CMAS/SSI/PADI.) The diving base is managed by the Pioneer Divers. Topspots, which made Marsa Alam famous are all in the near of  the resort. Boat diving is starting from Camp Marsa Shagra (about 5 min. by car-driving to the south from the resort.) We say: *****

For snorkling or bathing you cannot start directly into the sea from the resort (reefs). The Kahramana-Resort owns a beach 10 km to the north (Dabab Beach) with Bar, (short food) toilets, shower, friendly service, shuttle-bus from the Hotel. We say: could be better. You find there reefs with no dangerous condition but a wonderfull underwaterworld (the great turtle, beautiful corals and all the coloured fishes) that what the Red Sea is famous for.

Egypt inaugurates Marsa Alam Airport

Germany's Condor and Aero Lloyd as well as Switzerland's Crossair are to run flights to Marsa Alam from Europe and around the Middle East

The new Marsa Alam Airport in southeastern Egypt, which will serve the largest marina in the Middle East, was inaugurated Monday, the Kuwaiti group which runs the two infrastructures said.

A "Condor charter flight from Munich (Germany) landed at the international Marsa Alam airport Monday with 252 tourists on board," the Kharafi company said in a statement.

Three years ago, Kharafi was granted a 40-year concession for the first international airport to be built on a build-operate-transfer basis.

The Kuwaiti company said the port, with a capacity of 1,000 yachts, will open in 2003 or 2004 in Port Ghalib, a resort on the Red Sea, near Aswan.

The inauguration of the airport, which will be managed by the French company Aeroports de Paris, had been set for October 1 but was postponed following the September 11 jetliner attack on New York and Washington, a spokesman told AFP.

Germany`s Condor and Aero Lloyd as well as Switzerland`s Crossair are to run flights to Marsa Alam from Europe and around the Middle East.
